Don’t know if this has been posted here already, but I’m sure sliding new Alpines match your interests!

Also Renault, can you please just hurry up with building it, 2018 seems too far away.

Why is Renault taking so damn long to even unveil the Alpine, we already know how it’s gonna look. Silly teasers

I’m guessing it has to do with the technical aspects of the car, due to it being a new mid-engined platform and all. But I agree that all the teasing is getting a bit silly, we already known what it is going to look like since February, the only thing we don’t know for sure is the name.

Tooling and finding a factory with enough capazity or even the right subcontractor also takes some time.

Will the Alpine recieve a name though? Imo just Alpine would be fine.

Sure that’s true. Though I can’t imagine them building it anywhere else than Dieppe. I’m guessing they’ll move production of either the Clio RS or Mégane RS (most likely the Mégane RS since that is about to be replaced) to another factory to make room for the Alpine.

I think it’ll need a name, because if I’m not mistaken they plan to sell it as a Alpine, and not as a Renault Alpine. Alpine A120 has been rumoured as a name, but I’m not sure if I really like that, since the numbering sort of breaks with the tradition. On the other hand I’m glad Alpine returns, so I’ll probably like it, regardless of what it is named.

Dieppe also came into my mind because the current RS models are built there.

I like that name.

Yep, definitely going to be build int Dieppe, that was the plan all along. Renault has been making the Clio IV RS there just so the plant can stay open until the Alpine is ready for production.

The Mégane RS III was produced in Spain, in the same plant has the standard Mégane. As for the CLio, IIRC, they aim to move its production in the samed plant the non-RS one is made (Currently they are shipping white bodies to Dieppe).

Awesome. They need to hurry. Then again, my Volvo won’t be afgeschreven before the end of 2018.

Craig shared this amazing link with me. Better take your time. And don’t faint.

Ah, didn’t know the Mégane RS III was produced in Spain. Also didn’t know the Clio RS is produced in Dieppe just to keep it open, what did they build between the Sport Spider and the Clio IV RS?

Moving the production of the Clio RS to Flins makes way more sense than shipping the bodies in white to Dieppe.

Replacing a Volvo with an Alpine? I like your style!

Wow, amazing. Looks like I’m going to spend my evening looking a those pictures, haha. Also, I really like the photography style of Amy Shore, her pictures always look amazing, yet not overly composed.

Well, Renault has to put a decent price tag on it but it’s high (or rather: top!) on the list. And the mrs. needs to approve. Because she’ll need to drive a bigger car ;-) The new Tesla 3 could be an option: that one still is fiscally attractive, if you keep it near 50k.

I adore her style. The one pointing me out to her (professional automotive photographer from America) actually feels it’s a bit overly edited but I can’t stop watching these. Americans just like colors to “pop” I suppose.

I’ve read about the Alpine starting around €40k, but ofcourse that’s before BPM. The Tesla Model 3 will likely be in the same price range, however they’ve pre-sold so many that I’m curious how long the waiting list is.

That professional photographer you speak about is Craig Oesterling right? I like his style too, but it’s indeed more american with respect to the use of colours.

It’s extremely fuel economic right, can’t be that much BPM... Tesla’s go from $35K and the Dutch salesman I spoke yesterday said they didn’t expect it to be way higher than 35K euros. “From” of course. He told me to do that 1K downpayment if I’d really want one in 2018.

Haha, that was Craig alright!

Well, it’s ‘just’ a 4 cylinder, so it better be, right.

Ofcourse he wants you to do the downpayment, haha. Kidding aside, if Tesla makes the introduction deadline of late 2017, I’m sure production till late 2018 is filled already, seeing they sold around 180000 in the first day alone.

Best. Salesman. Ever. One thing is fine though, it’s always, at any moment refundable. So not all those 180000 will end up wanting one anyway ;-)
